A Short Song About Dust

by Anne Reburn

/

about

This one goes out to everyone who procrastinates by cleaning

lyrics

We're all seeking answers to the same questions as years ago
Ages pass but it feels like we're no closer
Some things we must admit we'll never know

Now I'm no great philosopher
But when I lie awake at night, still I wonder

Why are we here
What's my purpose
And where does all the dust in my house come from
(Where does all the dust in my house come from)

Why am I here
Why me, what's my purpose
And is it just to clean dust
Because it all just comes out of nowhere
I can't focus when my desk is dirty so I have to clean it before I work (okay)
It gets in my laptop when the lid is closed
How does that even happen
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to clean the baseboards
No one else but me will care, but I have to because it's been bothering me
I really don't have time for all these philosophical questions when there's always dust to clean
Everywhere!
